The Charlotte Hornets have signed guard Elfrid Payton to a second 10-day contract.
Payton signed his first 10-day contract with Charlotte on Feb. 7 and has averaged 2.0 factors, 2.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 27.7 minutes per sport throughout two appearances (one begin) with the staff. Earlier this season, Payton appeared in seven contests (three begins) for the New Orleans Pelicans, recording 6.7 factors, 3.4 rebounds, 6.9 assists and 1.4 steals in 20.6 minutes per sport. He dished a career-high 21 assists at Indiana (Nov. 25), the second-most in a sport by any participant this 12 months (22, Trae Younger).
Payton has suited up for the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Pelicans and Hornets all through his nine-year profession, averaging 10.0 factors, 4.0 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals throughout 509 outings (399 begins). He was initially chosen tenth general within the 2014 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers following three seasons on the College of Louisiana at Lafayette.
