Former Manchester United fullback Terrence “Tony” Younger has died on the age of 71.
Young was born just some miles from Previous Trafford in Urmston and performed for the membership between 1969-1976, making 97 appearances.
He joined the membership as an academy member in July 1968 and made his senior debut versus West Ham in 1970 at simply 17 years of age.
The defender was the 82nd academy graduate to efficiently make it from the youth group to a spot within the first group.
Younger was a fullback able to taking part in on both aspect and performed an important position within the membership’s promotion again to the First Division within the 1974/1975 season.
He would go away for Charlton Athletic in 1976 and would then go on to characterize York Metropolis, calling an finish to his profession in 1978.
An official assertion from the membership’s web site learn that “Manchester United is saddened by the information” of his loss of life and that “our ideas are with Tony’s household and buddies at this tough time.”

Former teammate Sammy McIlroy penned an emotional tribute to his former teammate than may be seen on the membership’s web site.
McIlroy joined United in 1969 and spent 13 years on the membership, sharing seven seasons with Younger.
He wrote, “it’s terribly unhappy to listen to of his passing. I bear in mind Tony had a large repute as a winger when he first joined the membership, and in contrast to some, he appeared to thrive below the stress.”
“He was a correct Manchester lad – laborious! He educated the best way he performed as effectively.”
The previous Northern Eire worldwide went on to explain Younger as the kind of character each group wants and the type that each supervisor desires to teach.
