In his first official qualifying session with Joe Gibbs Racing, Chase Briscoe made an announcement.
Briscoe received the pole for Sunday’s Daytona 500 with a lap of 49.249 seconds, beating Austin Cindric for the highest spot. The pole is the third of Briscoe’s Cup Collection profession and his second at Daytona. It is also the primary ever Daytona 500 pole for Toyota.
“It is an effective way to start out our season,” Briscoe instructed Fox Sports activities. “Unbelievable solution to begin off the 12 months, unbelievable solution to begin off with Toyota. Simply cannot thank Coach (Joe) Gibbs sufficient. The entire offseason, all people instructed me the main target was to qualify higher on superspeedways. To return right here with our No. 19 group and sit on the pole on the largest race of the 12 months is fairly particular.”
