Dirden signed with Houston as an undrafted free agent following the shortened 2020 draft. This previous offseason, he dropped to No. 30 on Baseball America’s organizational prospect listing and fell off MLB Pipeline’s listing solely. The Astros selected to not defend him within the Rule 5 draft, and he in the end went unselected.
